The best way to play faster is to practise very slow with the metronome.
Just begin with a few measures and play faster step-by-step. Write down the metronome number so you can see your progression.
Use always the same fingering and try to make no mistakes.

I ask concerning the eighth notes played; the rhythm sounds to me like quarter beats instead of the half beat I would have expected. Why is that?
